EnergyOS was built and is maintained by two teenagers who think a slow, unsupported laptop shouldn't become landfill — and that an operating system shouldn't watch you.
Why we started.
Millions of Chromebooks and older PCs hit their end-of-life date every year while the hardware is still perfectly usable. We wanted a modern, fast, private system that brings those machines back to life, so we built EnergyOS on Android with a proper desktop experience on top.
What we stand for.
- Privacy by default — no tracking, no Google account required.
- Open source, community-built, and free to use.
- Old hardware deserves new software, not the bin.
- Everyone is welcome in this community, no exceptions.
